四国大学「国際理解ゼミ」のご案内

四国大学では、姉妹校のサギノーバレー州立大学（アメリカ・ミシガン州）よりScott Youngstedt先生・Sara Keough先生をお迎えして、国際理解ゼミを開講いたしますので、ご案内申し上げます。

Cities and Societies

●　DESCRIPTION:

This course explores the historical development, planning, and contemporary conditions in North American cities, as well as cities in other regions of the world. It includes a focus on individuals and groups who act within and around urban areas.

Week 1: Origin and Growth of Cities (Sara Keough)

Week 2: Rural-Urban Connections and Divides in the U.S. (Scott Youngstedt)

Week 3: “Reading” the Urban Landscape (Sara Keough)

Week 4: Urban Planning the U.S.: Focus on Sprawl vs. Urban Growth Boundaries in Portland, Oregon (Scott Youngstedt)

Week 5: Public Space in American Urban Areas (Sara Keough)

Week 6: The Great Northern Migration: 20^th Century Movement of African Americans from the rural South to the Urban North (Scott Youngstedt)

Week 7: Historic Preservation in U.S. Cities (Sara Keough)

Week 8: African Immigrant Communitities in U.S. Cities (Scott Youngstedt)

Week 9: Comparing Canadian and American Cities (Sara Keough)

Week 10: The Growth of African Cities: Focus on Niamey, Niger (Scott Youngstedt)

２回目以降から参加される場合も、事務室(ワールドプラザ)にて受講料をお支払いください。
